MALTA: Malta, Valletta Grand Harbour from the Vedette, Senglea
Senglea itself is the smallest of the Three Cities, the other two being Cospicua and Vittoriosa. Its strategic position at the centre of the Grand Harbour made Senglea the most heaviliy bombed part of Malta during the Second World War. Its buildings were reduced to rubble and the inhabitants had to flee to other areas of Malta during this time. The Vedette is an old lookoutpoint in Safe Haven Garden, Senglea, Malta. It is famous for its sculpture of eyes and ears on the exterior walls and has wonderful views across to Malta's capital city, Valletta, over the Grand Harbour.
